I hope you are enjoying your long holiday weekend, maybe getting out for a cruise in this gorgeous weather. I want to let everyone know that Lynn & I will be throwing a big Christmas bash and you all are invited. The event will be on Saturday, Dec 17 from 4:00 till the last person leaves. Sorry, no fancy flyer.
We don’t live quite as far south as Stewart & Carol, but I realize Fredericksburg is still a long haul for many (we’re off of US 17, which is exit 133). However, for those who are hardy enough to make the trip we’d love to see you.
Please RSVP to Lynn at email@example.com or 540-273-0501.
We are asking that every guest bring non-perishable goods for the Fredericksburg Area Food Bank. We will have a donation box on the porch.
The address is 72 Journeys Way, Fredericksburg, VA 22406. If you haven’t updated your GPS in a while, beware that it may try to take you through the new reservoir. I recommend avoiding that route, as the lake is way deeper than Back Creek. To avoid that fate, take I95 exit 133, US 17 north past the WalMart (about 5 miles). From there your GPS is probably good, but just in case…
Turn left on Holly Corner Rd (Rt 655) – there is no light at this intersection, it’s the second left after the light at WalMart. Go approx. 2 miles then left on W. Rocky Run Rd. Go approx. 1.5 miles then right on River Acres Ln. Go straight through the stop sign and down the hill. Right on Rivergate Dr, then right on Journeys Way. We are the only house on the right. Don’t be afraid to pull into the driveway. If the weather is right and the grass is not muddy then we can park many cars beside the driveway.
Ho Ho Ho!

Subject: Oxon Hill Middle School Challenge Day car show, May 26, 10-2pm rain or shine
The show is a go for the club, we have 5 cars going so far. The school is providing lunches for us and they are very happy we are coming.
We can meet at Springfield Town Center (Mall) at about 9:30am and caravan across the river to MD together. Let's meet at the north west corner of the mall parking lot (near Franconia Road and Loisdale Road), right off the exit of I95. I will be towing my Vette, so I should be easy to spot. If you have any suggestions for an alternate meeting point, let me know.
This is a rain or shine event. I told the school, that unless there is a hurricane coming through that day, we will be there. I have two canopys I can bring in addition to the club canopy. These are coming with me even if it is a sunny day! I will have bottled water too. FYI, my car does not have window glass is the doors, those were removed when the interior was gutted for the conversion into a race car. I may have to use one of the canopies for my car, can't have the kids getting wet sitting in the car!
If you can make the show, there is still time to get signed up and have a commercial background check done prior to the show. This check is a requirement of the school system and the link is below. It takes a few minutes to complete and costs $7.26.
You will get an email about 4-5 days after completing the check that you will need to bring with you to the show. I had one done for Lynn, as she is coming too.
I want to say again, the school is extremely happy we are coming to their Challenge Day with our cars. I am excited we are coming and am looking forward to a good show.
Let me know if you are going to sign up, or if you have any questions.
We have greatly expanded the site at NRA HQ in Fairfax, VA. and are already starting vehicle registrations for the Sunday, September 24th show date (9am-3pm). I am reaching out to all local clubs, etc. to encourage both the sharing of the event as well as their members’ participation.
Attached is the show’s flyer for both electronic and printed distribution. Posting to club sites and other social media is strongly encouraged!
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, club & vendor inquiries, or to register a vehicle.
